What began as a dream between two high school sweethearts has grown into a family-run company known for exceptional service, trusted values, and a deep commitment to doing things the right way. Today, Kerr County A/C proudly includes the next generation, continuing the tradition of care and quality that customers have come to rely on.
From a Dream to a Legacy
The journey started with JR, who found his calling in the HVAC field at just 17 years old. After running a successful company in Houston, he and his wife Melissa followed their dream to the Texas Hill Country in 2014 and founded Kerr County A/C & Heating. Their goal? To raise their family in a quieter place-and to build something meaningful, together.
Melissa brought over 25 years of global marketing experience to the table. Leaving her corporate career behind, she joined JR as co-owner, infusing the business with heart, strategy, and a relationship-first approach. Together, they weathered the challenges of business ownership, all while raising a family and staying true to their belief: quality and integrity always come first.
Built on Family Values
Kerr County A/C was founded on the principle that family comes first-and it’s a value that still guides every decision they make. That’s why they’ve carefully chosen only the best products for their customers, invested in their team, and poured their hearts into creating a company people can trust. Over time, the business grew-and so did the family. Their son Kyle, who grew up watching his parents build the company, now leads the install crew with technical excellence and a strong sense of purpose. His wife Keyana, a key member of the office team, brings warmth and professionalism to every customer interaction. She’s often called the “heart” of the company for good reason.
Their oldest daughter, Tory, helped answer phones in the early days and helped shape the company’s welcoming tone. Today, she’s raising the next generation with that same love and care. And little Elli, the youngest member of the family, is already a familiar face-tagging along to events and starring in the beloved “drive to the office” videos that customers know and love.

Behind every great HVAC install, repair, or tune-up is a team of skilled professionals who take pride in their work. Kyle leads the install team with Mike, Devon, and Colton, while service techs Ryan and Alex ensure year-round comfort with fast, expert repairs. HVAC Design Manager Richard brings thoughtful design to every system.
Each member of the team shares the same commitment to excellence JR and Melissa started with-a promise to treat every home with the care and respect it deserves.
